International reporters disseminate information on Hanoi

Fourteen reporters from Cambodia, Egypt, Bulgaria and Hungary gathered at a meeting in Hanoi on September 10 to cover the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.

At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People’s Committee, Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, expressed her belief that the presence of international reporters in Hanoi will introduce this major national event to countries around the world.

During their stay from September 9-15, the delegation of reporters will have an opportunity to visit prominent places in Hanoi including the Thang Long Royal Citadel, and the Temple of Literature. They will also visit some craft villages and historic relics such as Son Tay Ancient Citadel, Duong Lam Ancient Village, Van Phuc Silk Village and Bat Trang Ceramic Village.

In addition, they will work with some outstanding businesses to promote investment, trade and tourism opportunities.

Ms Hang said that Hanoi now has 300 three and five-star hotels and thousands of small hotels to meet the demand of tourism.

Being selected as the focus of National Tourism Year 2010, Hanoi now has many programmes and tourism products to attract international visitors.
