Binh Thuan to host 2010 international yachting festival

A ceremony was held in the southern province of Binh Thuan on August 25 to announce the 2010 international yacht festival Mui Ne-Binh Thuan scheduled for December 8-12.

The festival, the first of its kind in Vietnam, is the biggest event in the province with a range of diverse activities taking place in many places around the province such as Mui Ne Bay, Hong Hill, Duong Hill, Sea Link and Ham Thuan Nam.

The event includes an exhibition of foreign yacht and a gala music programme.

Mai Quoc Viet, general director of the Dan Han Company said that the event will provide an opportunity to turn Mui Ne into a city of yacht. The event is expected to attract 20 yatchs from Russia, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Germany and Italy, as well as 20 beach beauty queens from 20 nations and territories around the world.

Hoang Anh Tuan, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the event also aims to build an international yachting industry to promote the potential of maritime tourism to both foreign and carry out Vietnam’s maritime sea strategy till the end of this year.

George Dvorak, general director of the International Business and Entertainment Company said that Mui Ne is in an ideal position to create an international yachting industry. The event will also offer an opportunity for Mui Ne to promote its tourism industry to international friends.

The event is also expected to attract several experts from world leading groups in the yacht manufacturing industry.
