Third Korean ginseng festival in Ha Noi

The third Korean ginseng festival will be held at Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, No 72A Nguyen Trai road, Thanh Xuan, Ha Noi from December 5th-7th, 2014.

Six Korean companies (Star Korea, Jinsanscience Co., Ltd, Cheong Jeong Insam Co., Ltd, Hongsam365 (Hongsammin) Co., Ltd, Daedong Korea Ginseng Co., Ltd, and Geumhong Co., Ltd) will introduce products from ginseng such as wine, tea, dried ginseng and ginseng juice to the local people.

The event, sponsored by the Embassy of Korea in Viet Nam, the Korean Cultural Centre in Ha Noi, Viet Nam Food Safety Authority under the Ministry of Health, and Business Network International (BNI) is a really good opportunity for Vietnamese costumers to get free medical consultancy and check-up by Korean specialists/acupuncturist from Oriental Hospital of Daejeon University as well.

According to the organizing board (the authorities of Geumsan district and Chungcheongnam-do province in South Korea, Daejeon MBC, Korean Business Association in Viet Nam and SMBL Cosco Marketing), visitors also have chance to taste free Samgyetang, insam kimchi and ginseng fried which made by Korean chefs, every days from 11h45 am and 16h15pm.

Ginseng, which has a long history in Korean medicine, was grown in Geumsan, a mountainous area with a favorable climate and soil conditions for ginseng growing, and harvested after three to six years. It contains some important ingredients such as saponin, Selenium (Se) and adaptogens that support people combating to cancer, and boosting the immune system (protects the body from possibly harmful substances by recognizing and responding to antigens).

Statistics showed that Korea picked up around 22,000 tones of ginseng last year, mainly exported to the markets of Japan, Hong Kong (China) and Viet Nam, in which 3,400 tones produced by the authorities of Geumsan district and Chungcheongnam-do province.

K-pop performances by Korea’s Speed and Sonic groups also to take place to entertain customers.

This year’s event is expected to lure around 40,000 visitors (in compare with a record of 30,500 visitors in 2013), 80% of which are local costumers (80%), along with authorized distributors and direct importers.
