XQ embroidered artwork exhibition opens in Ha Long

An exhibition featuring hundreds of embroidered artworks opened at Quang Ninh provincial Museum in Ha Long City on October 29.

This is the first time XQ embroidery from Da Lat city in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong will be introduced in Ha Long city.

At the exhibition, the making of a 5.8m-long and 0.6m-wide picture officially began on the evening of October 30 by ten artisans from the Viet Nam XQ Embroidery Painting Company.

The piece is scheduled to be completed in six months.

XQ hand embroidery has shone a new light on the cultural tradition of Vietnamese hand embroidery, providing meaningful souvenirs for international visitors to Viet Nam. Embroidered artworks have also been introduced overseas to advertise the beauty of Vietnamese traditional culture and people’s daily life.
