A display of artwork by seven Vietnamese painters was launched in the Italian city of Milan on October 22, drawing large crowds of Vietnamese and Italian art enthusiasts.
The event was part of the "Vietnamese Days" held in the city to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam - Italy diplomatic ties.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long said a collection of Vietnamese traditional dresses by designer Lan Huong will also soon go on display as well as an exhibition exploring Vietnamese and Italian solidarity between 1960 and 1970.
Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia said the current display spotlights an emerging Vietnam across various domains, from economics to culture to travel.
The Vietnamese Days in Milan aim to promote the images of Vietnam, its hospitable people and unique culture while recalling the support given by Italian citizens, many of them Milanese, to Vietnam over the past 40 years.
