As scheduled, national workshops will be conducted in each ASEAN Member State to review and obtain feedback on the toolboxes and then a final regional workshop to review and endorse suggested changes for an agreed competency standard in ASEAN.

Since 2009, ASEAN Member States have signed the Mutual Recognition Arrangement with the aim to facilitate the mobility of skilled tourism labors in the region, exchange information on best practices in competency-based education and training for tourism professionals and provide opportunities for cooperation and capacity building across ASEAN Member States. This is an important contribution to accelerate the establishment of ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.
