Japan promotes cultural exchanges with Vietnam
Update: Apr 26, 2013
President of the Japan International Cultural Exchange Foundation Hiroyasu Ando is on a three-day visit to Vietnam, with the aim of furthering cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Together with the increasing economic cooperation, the two sides should foster the mutual understanding between the two peoples, a very important factor for their cultural exchanges, Ando, who arrived in Vietnam on April 24, said at a press briefing in Hanoi .

According to Ando, in the coming time, his foundation will strengthen two-way exchanges with the Vietnamese side in the fields of culture, arts, science and knowledge.

Japan also wants to share experiences with Vietnam in preserving and developing the latter's traditional culture, he stressed. Japan will invite Vietnamese artists, stage and cinema experts to the country to meet and share experiences with their Japanese counterparts, Ando added.

The Japan International Cultural Exchange Foundation came to Vietnam in 2008. Over the past years, the foundation has carried out many activities to introduce the Japanese culture to the Vietnamese people, contributing to promoting cultural ties between the two countries.
