Vietnam - Japan traditional cultural exchange

The Vietnam - Japan traditional cultural exchange took place in Ho Chi Minh City on March 3rd, as one in a series of cultural activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relation.

Artists from Japan's Okinawa traditional artistic troupe brought to Ho Chi Minh City performances imbued Japanese national cultural identities.

Artists from Ho Chi Minh City Non La (Conical hat) troupe performed festival drums, Hue royal dance, and stone instruments and other musical instruments of the Central Highlands.

Also, to celebrate the 2013 Year of Friendship between the two countries and International Women' Day (March 8), the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and Vietnamese Women's Museum in Hanoi, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, will organize an exhibition "Japanese traditional dolls" and related activities in the capital of Vietnam on March 7-31. Accordingly, over 250 Japanese dolls will be on display.

In addition to the exhibition, other related Japanese cultural activities such as Kimono/Yukata trials, Origami workshops, and Japanese traditional toys trials, will be also presented in Vietnamese Women's Museum (mainly on the opening day) at 36 Ly Thuong Kiet street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
