Contemporary Japanese fine arts on display
Update: Jul 15, 2010
Forty-two artworks by 11 contemporary Japanese artists are on display at an exhibition which opened on July 14 in Hue city, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.

Taking inspiration from the daily lives, the works are set in the common trend of contemporary arts including paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos.

According to the organising board, a large mass of people have changed their view on the matters of life due to major shifts in the world socio-economic conditions in the 1990s, and that has created a change in contemporary arts.

Since then, many artists have turned away from larger issues to concentrate on smaller and more intimate areas of life, featuring personal feelings and lives.

The event will last till July 24.
