Update: Aug 31, 2009
Work on construction of a four-star hotel, the first of its kind in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province, began on August 26 at a cost of VND 410 billion (USD 22.96 million).

The project, invested by the PetroVietnam Finance Land JSC (PVFCLand), is expected to finish within two and a half years.

Also the same day, the central province officially transferred the operation of the Nghi Son Port to the Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC).

Under a signed contract, the PTSC will manage and exploit wharves 1 and 2 of the Nghi Son Port with a combined capacity of 1.6-2 million tonnes a year and continue investing in the port’s infrastructure in the next phase.

The Nghi Son Port, located in the Nghi Son Economic Zone of Thanh Hoa Province, is a deep sea-port with over 10 planned quays, capable of receiving 50,000-tonne ships and handling more than 10 million tonnes of goods a year.

Also, the PTSC has bought Hon La Port in central Quang Binh Province for use and investment in phase 2.
