The Guide Awards 2008-2009 for top 119 tourism businesses in Vietnam tourism industry took place in HCMC in June 5. This is the 10th guide awards organized by The Guide Magazine (Vietnam Economic Times).
On the occasion of world environment day, this year’s guide awards honors the businesses that try to protect environment, use natural material in their products and services, maintain and develop traditional handicraft art. “The Guide Awards honors and encourage the businesses in raising quality their products and services while being playground to exchange, share creative ideals for sustainable tourism developmentâ€, said Mrs. Le Thanh Hai, deputy editor of Vietnam Economic Times, responsibility for The Guide Magazine.
Of which 119 tourism businesses, there are 8 hotels and resorts awarded “Green Lotus†prize for their try at environment protection through specific activities such as waste treatment, effective power management… They are Anoasis Beach Resort, Binh An Village Resort, Hoi An Riverside Resort, Ho Tram Beach Resort & Spa, Princess D'Annam Resort & Spa, Swiss-Bel Hotel Golden Sand Resort & Spa Hoi An, The Pilgrimage Village and Victoria Phan Thiet Beach Resort & Spa.
Of which other 111 businesses, there are 21 hotels, 15 resorts, 39 restaurants, 14 tourism and transportation companies and 22 businesses in other service fields
Along with The Guide Awards, the Vietnam Economic Times also organized a seminar on the theme “The relationship between tourism and environment businessesâ€. Through this seminar, the Guide Magazine’s ideal on clean beach competition was shared to seek performance ability.
