Travelport: Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi are destinations in Southeast Asia to visit in 2022

(TITC) - Recently, Travelport, a global technology company that powers bookings for travel suppliers worldwide released an article, listing top 10 destinations in Southeast Asia for international travellers to visit in 2022.  Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi have been named in the list.

According to Travelport, borders begin to open across Southeast Asia, leading to the increase of flight operations and tourism bookings. Those signals show the excitement of travellers after 2 years of suspension of the pandemic and the readiness and determination of all countries in Southeast Asia to recover, toward the sustainable development of tourism. Travel restrictions in all Southeast Asian countries have been removed gradually, and are opening the borders to international visitors.

Travelport’s booking data shows that international flight bookings to Southeast Asia overall have increased and have shown an upward trajectory in the first quarter of 2022 with the Philippines taking the lead with 42% of its international bookings in the first quarter of 2019 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the first three months of 2022, the Philippines and Thailand accounted for over half (51%) of all international flight bookings to the region.

Especially, the monitoring travel trends tool by Google Destination Insights recently shows the soaring in the international search volume for Vietnam tourism within a month post the official reopening for international tourism from 15th March 2022. Additionally, Vietnam is standing still on its position as one of the fastest growing destinations globally, with the growth of over 75%.
