Launching digital platform for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ichLinks)

On May 27, the launching ceremony of ichLinks, an integrated intangible cultural heritage (ICH) information-sharing platform in Asia – Pacific region, was held online at Korea. Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) is nominated by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a partner organization of the ichLinks project.
 
The platform has been built by International Information & Networking Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) - a center under the auspices of UNESCO.
 
IchLinks project has started since 2020 with 5 partner organizations including Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam; National Center for Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia; Kazakhstan National Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage; Republican Scientific-Methodological Center for Organization of Cultural Institutions Activity under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Malaysia Arts Cultural Practitioners Association (MACPA).
 
The ichLinks platform contains information about more than a thousand elements of the intangible cultural heritage (ICH), as well as thousands of photos, videos, audio materials, publications, and information on experts and organizations. It also publishes updated information about conferences, seminars and events.
 
The platform is a channel to promote intangible cultural heritage to international visitors, contributing to develop cultural tourism.
