(TITC) - Situated at No.13, Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 3, Bac Lieu City, the house is bound to the anecdote of Bac Lieu dandy Tran Trinh Huy (1900-1974) – the most famous dandy in the Southern province of Bac Lieu in early 20th century.
Bac Lieu Dandy’s house was constructed in 1919, on the bank of Bac Lieu River. The house was built of cast steel, marble, bricks, etc. which were carved with letter "P" as an evidence of its origin from Paris.
The 2-storey house featured by the luxury color of white and splendid French architecture. This was considered as the most prominent house in six Southern provinces at that time with two bedrooms, two large lobbies on ground floor and one stair leading to the upper floor. Also, on the second floor, there are 3 bedrooms, 2 large lobbies and rooms for Bac Lieu Dandy and his father which were fully equipped with double beds, televisions, telephones, air conditions, wardrobes and desks, etc.
Currently, the house remains intact and is open for visitors. A part of the house is set up to display valued and rare artifacts which Bac Lieu Dandy’s family used to use. The rest of the house has been repaired for hospitality and restaurant services.
