(TITC) - On 21st February 2020, in Hanoi, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Vietnam Grand Prix LLC (VGPC) signed an agreement on tourism promotion at Formula 1 for the period 2020 - 2025.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Ha Van Sieu, VNAT’s Vice-Chairman and VNAT’s departments, and Mrs. Le Ngoc Chi, General Director of VGPC.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice-Chairman Ha Van Sieu informed that the number of international visitors to Vietnam in January 2020 recorded approximately 2 million, 32.8% more than the same period last year.
Nevertheless, being affected by Covid-19 disease, since February 2020, the numbers of visitors from almost major tourist markets of Viet Nam have began to fall. Thanks to the decisive leadership and strategies set by the Government and the authorities at all levels, the disease has been under control. Those strategies have been applied in all provinces and tourist sites to ensure the safety of the visitors at the best as possible. At present, traveling at provinces which have not been affected by Covid-19 is still kept continuing, as usual, followed strictly the instructions on Covid-19 preparedness and response by authorized agencies.
Thus, Vietnam Grand Prix planned to be held in April 2020 would be a strong and meaningful message from Viet Nam sending to the international community that the destination is a safe, friendly, and attractive. Simultaneously, this is a very good opportunity to promote and introduce tourist product through huge sport events or MICE, etc. Formula 1 in particular is one of the biggest sports events globally which is the interest of numerous audiences, especially from major tourist markets of Viet Nam such as Europe, Ocean, Japan, etc as affirmed by Vice-Chairman Ha Van Sieu.

From VGPC, Mrs. Le Ngoc Chi said that the Corporation is honored to cooperate with VNAT to promote Formula 1 as well as Vietnam tourism. The race planned to be taken place in Hanoi in April is not only a sport event but also an important culture and tourism event of the City and the whole country. It would help to promote the culture, the country and the people of Viet Nam and to establish an image of an active, modern, civilized and friendly country in the eyes of friends from all over the world. If this opportunity could be used properly, it would be a big step in the tourism industry.
According to the agreement, the activities implemented by both sides include: enhancing the progression and promotion of Vietnam tourism and Formula 1 through mass media; introducing brochures, promotional documents and exchanging related information; joining together at some certain fairs and roadshows organized internationally; cooperating in promotion via press agencies and communication facilities of VNAT, VGPC and at related events; cooperating in hosting the annual international press conferences in the framework of Vietnam Grand Prix, etc.
Formula 1 VinFast Vietnam Grand Prix Race in Hanoi will be taken place from 3rd to 5th April 2020 which is the newest race of Formula 1 World Championship season 2020. This is the third round of the season, right after rounds in Melbourne (Australia) and Bahrain and among the opening races in the Asia region. With the unique design, the circuit in Vietnam is considered one of the most challenged and emotional circuits of the season, promising to witness tense and attractive competitions. The round is expected to draw about 300 thousand participants, including the domestic and international fans and tourists as well as hundreds of international journalists.
