Exhibition on folk paintings opens at Temple of Literature

An exhibition of Viet Nam’s folk paintings and application will take place at the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Activities of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) as of October 24.

The event, held by the Ha Noi Ceramics Museum, aims to preserve and restore Viet Nam’s folk paintings. 

Hanoians will have the opportunity to gain insights into photos and documentaries of six genres of folk paintings and related products such as household products and decorative items using patterns and colours of Kim Hoang paintings. 

The exhibited artworks are selected from entries to the recent competition on Kim Hoang paintings. After three months of launching, the jury board received nearly 300 entries from kids in Ha Noi. 

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on the evening of October 24 with a fashion show introducing 27 impressive costumes inspired from Kim Hoang paintings. 

Diverse activities will be held during the event to introduce and promote Kim Hoang folk paintings. The exhibition will run through November 10.
