A ceremony was held on December 27, 2008 in Can Tho to sum up the Mekong – Can Tho National Tourism Year.
Around 1,000 artists of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho province gave performances imbued with southern land identity.
This year saw many difficulties due to the economic depression, the number of domestic and international tourists to Mekong River delta still reaches 3.5 million people, an increase of 22% compared with 2007.
Can Tho city only attracted over 800,000 tourists, 18% up as compared with last year.
