Update: Apr 18, 2018
According to Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee, artistic performances at the 1,050th anniversary of the establishment of Dai Co Viet will draw the participation of artistic troupes from Thanh Hoa province, Laos and the Republic of Korea.

Diverse activities to be held to mark 1,050th anniversary of the establishment of Dai Co Viet

From the beginning of this year, the province has held several activities for the celebration. In April and May, more than 20 culture and sports activities such as Hoa Lu festival, Trang An festival, Thai Vi temple festival, special artistic performances, and Miss Hoa Lu 2018 contest will be held.

The highlight will be a ceremony to celebrate the Dai Co Viet establishment and launch Hoa Lu festival.

In the late 10th century, Hoa Lu was the capital, and economic, political and cultural center of Dai Co Viet, founded by Dinh Bo Linh (968-979), and then the early Le dynasty (980 - 1009).

Dai Co Viet was the first centralized feudal state in Viet Nam which existed from 968 to 1010 AD. It was also the native land of three royal dynasties: the Dinh, the early Le and the Ly. Hoa Lu was the first capital of the country until King Ly Thai To moved the capital to Thang Long (now Ha Noi) in 1010.
