HCM city - Gyeongju World Culture Festival 2017 attracts over four million visitors

The Ho Chi Minh (HCM) city - Gyeongju World Culture Festival 2017 has attracted four million visitors after 23 days.


 

The information was released by Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong at the festival's closing ceremony on December 3rd.

The event featured the culture of Viet Nam, the Republic of Korea (RoK), and 17 other countries.

Chairman Phong said that the the festival contributed to not only promoting the images of the land and people of Viet Nam and the RoK, but also enhancing mutual understanding among countries.

The memorandum of understanding on friendship cooperation signed between Ho Chi Minh city and Gyeongsangbuk-do province is an important milestone and foundation for future cooperation between the two localities, Mr. Phong stressed. This will bolster the dynamic role of Ho Chi Minh city in cultural exchanges and international cooperation.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province Kim Kwan Yong said that the festival’s success will open open up new opportunities for the two localities to strengthen cooperation in different fields such as culture, economics and education, thus enhancing the friendship between Viet Nam and the RoK.
