Nearly VND1,700 billion to preserve fishing village in Ha Long bay

The Ha Long city People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province has made a plan for the preservation and promotion of several outstanding cultural values of fishing village in Ha Long Bay.

Accordingly, the total investment is estimated at over VND1,698 billion. The project will be carried out at Cua Van area in Ha Long bay and Cai Xa Cong resettlement area in Ha Phong precinct, Ha Long city.

Specifically, Cua Van floating culture centre will be built at former Cua Van fishing village, to introduce the spiritual and daily life of fishermen before and after relocation.

Apart from introducing documentary films on the material and spiritual life of fishermen, and folk singing performances, the model of a classroom for fishermen’s children will be reinstated.

At Cai Xa Cong resettlement area, Ha Long city will organize a photo exhibition on changes and development among people in fishing villages in the past and at present.

The plan aims to preserve and promote the outstanding cultural values of fishing villages; and create specific tourism products to attract more tourists and prolong visiting time of tourists in the bay.
