Update: Aug 03, 2017
The 5th Da Nang International Marathon (DNIM 2017) will take place at the East Sea Park in Son Tra District, Da Nang City on Sunday 6 August.

DNIM 2017 will comprise 4 races: a 42km full marathon, a 21km half marathon, a 10km run, and a Food5km run.  The full marathon, half marathon and 10km run will start at 4.00am, whilst the Food5km run will begin at 7.00am.

The annual event aims to advertise the beautiful images of the city to international friends.

After finishing the Food5km run, runners will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of delicious specialities from Da Nang and elsewhere in the central region at the Zody area at the finish line.

In addition to registered runners, DNIM 2017 will see the participation of members from the US Silver Strider Club.  By participating in the event, the US middle-aged runners want to convey the message of healthy lifestyle to the community.

Apart from the main races, a Sports Day, which will be free for visitors at the park on Saturday 5 August, will feature various interesting activities.  Also on the same day, the race-kit pick-up event for runners will take place at the same venue between 9.00am and 8.00pm.

The organisers of the DNIM 2017 expect to appeal for donations from generous domestic and foreign donors to help the Support Association for the Disabled and Orphans, the Association of Agent Orange Victims, the Association of Disabled People, the Village of Hope, the Table Tennis Club for Disabled People, in the city, and 15 poor local families.

DNIM is the first professional marathon in Viet Nam, and it has been certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).  Thanks to this, the competition has proved very popular and attracted an increasing number of runners, from both home and abroad, over the years.

Last year saw over 4,200 professional and amateur runners taking part from all around the world.  62% of them were foreigners competing in the 42km full marathon and the 21km half-marathon.
