ASEAN graphic art works displayed in Ha Noi
Update: Dec 16, 2016
An exhibition showcasing outstanding works selected from the second ASEAN Graphic Art Competition - Viet Nam 2016 opened in Ha Noi on December 14.

The competition was held by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and International Cooperation Department of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the ASEAN countries’ embassies in Viet Nam and the Vietnamese embassies in ASEAN countries.

The contest offered an opportunity for Vietnamese and ASEAN artists to exchange experience and showcase new works of print painting and graphic art.

The organising board received 340 entries from 198 artists from 10 ASEAN countries and selected 11 outstanding works for awards. The first prize was presented to a carved wood painting of Praween Piangchoompoo from Thailand.

On display are 138 works of 108 ASEAN painters featuring their countries and people in contemporary life, which strengthen the solidarity and friendship among the people and cooperation and development in art among the ASEAN countries.

The exhibition will last until December 22 at the Viet Nam Museum of Fine Arts.
