International Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Festival – Binh Dinh 2016

(TITC) - Taking place from 2 to 4 August 2016 in Quy Nhon City, An Nhon Town, and districts of Tay Son, Tuy Phuoc, Phu My (Binh Dinh Province), the 6th International Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Festival – Binh Dinh 2016 with the theme “Conservation and promotion of Vietnamese traditional martial arts” is one of the most awaited cultural events in 2016 of Binh Dinh people as well as domestic and international visitors.

Held every two years to honor Vietnamese traditional martial arts, especially Binh Dinh traditional martial arts – national intangible cultural heritage, the festival is the chance for domestic and international martial arts delegations to meet, exchange and discuss about conservation and promotion of Vietnamese traditional martial arts at home and abroad. This is also the opportunity for international friends to more understand the land of Binh Dinh with unique traditional cultural values, landscape sites, historical relics, typical traditional craft villages, thereby contributing to attracting visitors and developing Binh Dinh tourism.

The 6th International Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Festival has the participations of 52 delegations, including 36 domestic ones and 16 international ones from France, Russia, Italia, Morocco, America, Portugal, Algeria and Canada.

The opening ceremony of the festival took place on 2 August 2016 in the central square of Binh Dinh Province. With the theme “Vietnamese traditional martial arts night”, the ceremony gave visitors the unique martial arts performances.

One of the main contents of the festival is the series of exchange activities of domestic and international martial arts delegations at typical martial arts training rooms of Binh Dinh Province such as Phi Long Vinh in Tuy Phuoc District, Le Xuan Canh in An Nhon Town, Phan Tho in Tay Son District, Thanh So in Phu My District, etc.

In the framework of the festival, from 1 to 4 August 2016, at the campus of Binh Dinh Province’s Cultural Centre (Quy Nhon City), Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Binh Dinh Literature and Arts Association has organized the photo exhibition on Vietnamese traditional martial arts. The exhibition displays more than 100 photos on the previous international Vietnamese traditional martial arts festivals.

In particular, to the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the famous tourist attractions of the province such as Phuong Mai Tourist Area, Ba Mountain, Twin Tower, Banh It Tower, Thien Hung Pagoda, Ham Ho Tourist Area, Quang Trung Museum…

The festival will end on 4 August 2016.
