An art photo exhibition themed ‘Sa Pa: Land and People’, a display of ornamental trees and flowers and a mountainous food fair will take place during the week.
The event’s opening ceremony will start at 19:30 on April 30 with an art programme reproducing traditional folklore and cultural activities of ethnic minority groups by artists from the Lao Cai province’s art troupes and a fireworks show over Xuan Vien lake in the centre of Sa Pa Town.
The In-the-Cloud festival and a cultural festival of the Mong people’s Cat Cat Village will open at 9:00, while a traditional costume show from six ethnic minority groups in Sa Pa will be staged at 20:00 on May 1.
On May 2, the programme ‘One Day to Be Farmers’ and an art programme featuring mountainous cultural identities will be held.
On the occasion, the eighth Open Fansipan Tennis Cup will also be held.
The People’s Committee of Sa Pa District said that all preparations are being made for a successful event, which is expected to attract over 50,000 tourists to Sa Pa.
