Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Festival 2014

(TITC) - From 1- 6 July, Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Festival 2014 will take place in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province. The festival organized by Expo International Trade Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City) and Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to introduce and honor quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine culture.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held with a series of attractive activities such as street parade; reproduction of the legend of chung cake, day cake; performance of drums; water puppetry, circus…

There are also many other special activities in the framework of the festival such as “Vietnamese cuisine of three regions” contest; beer promotion day and festival; cuisine market; meeting of local specialties… Of which, “Vietnamese cuisine of three regions” contest is the opportunity for professional cooks from hotels, restaurants, cook training schools to exchange professional skills and promote values ​​and essences of Vietnamese cuisine.

In addition, the companies specializing in producing, trading beer and wine nationwide will participate in the beer promotion day and festival to promote their products, brands to consumers.

The cuisine market with the theme “Taste of Vietnamese cuisine” is the reproduction of village markets with stalls of fruit, popular dishes and also fast food... To the market, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy and buy many types of cakes (tet cake, gai cake, tam bi cake, khot cake, beo cake), jams, fruit, drinks…

At the meeting of local specialties, visitors will be enjoyed unique performances of famous cooks from hotels, restaurants, cook training schools. Many Vietnamese specialties will be displayed, including La Vong fried fish, frozen meat, green bean cake... (North); Hue beef rice vermicelli, Quang noodle; Tam Ky chicken rice… (Central); Sa Dec hu tieu (noodle with seasoned and sauté beef), xeo cake… (South); grilled chicken with chilli salt, sour bamboo sprout, grilled hemibagrus… (Central Highlands); men men (steamed corn flour), khau nhuc… (North-West Highlands)

Besides, the festival also has other activities such as lighting flower street, fashion show, art programs, folk games…

The Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Festival 2014 is the opportunity for businesses, artisans, cooks to exchange experiences on traditional cuisine art; and also promote Vietnamese cuisine culture to visitors.
