(TITC) – On 9 April 2017, Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan had a meeting with President of Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Mr. Jung Chang Soo.

According to Mr. Jung Chang Soo, marking the celebration of 25th Anniversary of Viet Nam – Korea diplomatic ties, various activities will take place in both two countries this year. Of which, the starting event was the “Korea Days in Ha Noi 2017’’ from April 8-9.

In 2016, there were 1.5 million Korean visitors to Viet Nam and 250,000 Vietnamese visitors to Korea. The Korea’s tourism sector highly valued tourist potential from Viet Nam and hoped to enhance the bilateral cooperation, Mr. Jung Chang Soo said.

In the first three months of 2017, the number of Korean visitors to Viet Nam reached 500,000 arrivals, and is expected to reach 2 million this year.

Republic of Korea has been considered as one of the leading tourist markets of Viet Nam tourism. At the Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) due in this June, Viet Nam will organize a series of activities to promote Viet Nam tourism to the Korean public.
