Celebrate Indonesian Independence day at Park Hyatt Saigon

Ho Chi Minh City, 10 August 2009 --- To celebrate the 64th Independence Day of Indonesia, Park Hyatt Saigon welcomes Guest Chef Dosniroha Sitompul from Grand Hyatt Jakarta to Square One restaurant for a special Indonesian lunch and dinner food promotion from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 August 2009.

A variety of traditional dishes await you, including Gado-Gado Jakarta (Mixed Vegetable Salad with Peanut Sauce); Kakap Acar Kuning (Grilled Indonesian Fish Curry); Salada Bahari (Seafood Salad in Chilli Lime Dressing); Ayam Sereh Limo (Shredded Chicken Salad with Chilli and Shrimp Paste); Tahu Bacem (Marinated Tofu with Sweet Soya Sauce); and Sate Ayam and Sate Sapi (Grilled Chicken and Beef Satay served with Rice Cake).

Diners are also invited to enjoy special Indonesian main courses, including Daging Rendang Padang (Beef Braised with Fresh Coconut); Ikan Wokublanga (Braised Fish with Red Chilli, Manadonese Style); Ayam Bakar Jogya (Grilled Chicken served with Long Beans, Cucumber and White Cabbage with Sambal); Sayur Asem (Braised Assorted Vegetables with Tamarind Stock); Nasi Goreng Jawa (Indonesian Fried Rice with Prawns and Chicken); and Mie Goreng Bangka (Stir-Fried Egg Noodles, Bangkanese Style). The dessert highlights are Kue Lapis Surabaya (Steamed Layered Surabaya Cake); Eis Kelapa Muda (Coconut Juice with Ice); Bubur Ketan Hitam (Black Sticky Rice, Coconut Cream); and Pisang Goreng (Deep Fried Banana in Batter).

About Chef Dosniroha Sitompul

Chef Dosniroha Sitompul grew up in the city of Batang Toru in North Sumatra, Indonesia. In 1992, he started his cooking career as demi chef at the Hailai International Executive Club in Jakarta. From 1996 to 1999, he was demi chef at Grand Hyatt Jakarta, working in the Banquet Kitchen. In 2004, he was promoted to chef de partie in the Seafood Terrace Kitchen and then in the Grand Café Kitchen. Chef Dosniroha Sitompul now brings his expertise in Indonesian cuisine to share it with local residents and expatriates in Saigon to mark this special occasion for Indonesia.
