The event will feature 101 booths and include various activities such as theme-based food creations, vegetable and fruit sculpting, and a contest to select southern Viet Nam’s 100 excellent dishes. Entertainment features performances of don ca tai tu (traditional music of southern Viet Nam), Central Highlands ethnic music and Vovinam (Vietnamese martial art).
The festival will install a culinary space themed on Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) where visitors can enjoy highland specialties such as Ban Don style chicken, grilled wild board and com lam (rice cooked in bamboo tubes), and experience ethnic cultural activities.
At the festival’s press conference, the organizers also donated VND100 million to Viet Nam’s coast guards and another VND50 million to two East Sea relief aid funds.
Am Thuc Dat Phuong Nam is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourisms, the Viet Nam Tourism Association and Phu Tho Tourism Company.
Tickets, including entrance fee, food and drinks, are priced at VND200,000.
