(TITC) - In early 2014, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province welcomed two international 5-star cruise ships with over 5,000 tourists. The number of international tourists to resorts, hotels in the province is higher than that in the same period last year… This is the positive signal about provincial capability of attracting international tourists in 2014.
According to some provincial accommodation establishments as An Hoa Residence, Sai Gon – Binh Chau and Ho Coc resorts, international tourists to here increased sharply in 2013. Especially in the last months, An Hoa Residence achieved 100% occupancy rate. Most international tourists came from Russia, France, Germany. During their stay of 10-15 days, main activities that occupied most of their time included relaxing, swimming, sunbathing, cycling to explore natural landscapes, climbing, mud bath, spa, shopping and tasting fine food…
At the end of 2013, Saigon-Binh Chau Tourist Joint Stock Company worked with its partner in Russia on bringing Russian tourists to Viet Nam. The two sides scheduled to carry out such activities as destination survey, forming tours in March. This positive signal seems a promise of growth in Russian tourist arrivals to Ba Ria – Vung Tau in the coming time.
Leaders of most tourism businesses believe that the province will attract more international tourists in the next few years thanks to new products and services. Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Highway was opened to traffic on January 2014, many luxury resorts have been put into operation as Vietsovpetro Resort, Ho Tram Strip, Carmelina Beach Resort … This is a favorable opportunity for provincial tourism to lure more international tourists.
According to Mr. Ho Van Loi – Director of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the coming time, the province will encourage tourism businesses to develop new products as diving, sailing, windsurfing...; at the same time focus on upgrading, restoring cultural – historical relics, and promote tourism to attract international tourists.
