Laem Phromthep is a headland forming the extreme south end of Phuket. "Phrom" is Thai for the Hindu term, "Brahma," signifying purity, and "Thep" means "God." Local villagers used to refer to the cape as "Laem Chao", or the God's Cape, and it was an easily recognisable landmark for the early seafarers travelling up the Malay Peninsula from the sub-continent.
Mu Ko Phi Phi
Mu Ko Phi Phi is located in Amphoe Mueang Krabi, Krabi. These off-shore islands are approximately 40 kilometres from both Krabi and Phuket provinces. They comprise Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Phi Phi Le; the distance between the two islands is 2.2 kilometres. The islands have scenic views both on land and in the sea. Visitors can take a one-day tour or an overnight stay. In addition, a tour service is on offer from Phuket to other islands, such as Muko Surin, Muko Similan, Muko Lanta, and Mu Ko Tarutao.
