VITM Ha Noi 2013 is expected to attract the participations of a large number of domestic and foreign tourism enterprises to find out partners and expand business in domestic, inbound and outbound tourism sectors; at the same time contribute to raising awareness about the role and position of tourism in social-economic development.
The mart will have 400 stalls, including 250 domestic ones of the tourism management agencies at the Central and localities; tourism promotion agencies; tourism associations; travel agencies, hotels; tourism transport companies, entertainment and shopping centers; tourist sites; representative offices of the airlines; media agencies... and 150 international ones from major markets such as Australia, the U.S., France, Britain, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Russia and some other new markets such as Eastern Europe, India, Philippines, Indonesia.
The mart includes the main activities
Trade - fair activities: introducing, signing cooperation documents between foreign tour operators and outbound companies in Viet Nam, buyers and Vietnamese travel agencies, tourism service companies (from 18 to 21 April); selling directly promotional products and packages to customers (from 20 to 21 April); introducing and selling souvenirs and handicrafts.
Destination promotion and introduction activities: introducing natural and cultural heritage, tourism products, high quality tourism services, Vietnamese potential tourist sites for domestic and foreign travel companies; introducing overseas destinations for Vietnamese tourists, products and services of outbound tour operators; organizing tourism promotion activities for localities, Vietnamese and foreign tourism businesses; organizing the famtrips for international buyers and journalists.
Outdoor exhibition activities: introducing transportations (yachts, kayaks, bicycles, cars...); tourist equipments (tents, sleeping bags, backpacks....); hotel equipments.
Conference – workshop activities: organizing 5 seminars: “Viet Nam tourism’s brand" (by VNAT), “Promoting the values of the capital’s cultural heritage to develop tourism” (Ha Noi City), “Red River Delta Tourism - potential and development” (Hai Phong City), “Strategy to raise awareness about responsible tourism in Viet Nam” (ESRT project), “Green Tourism Label and the solutions to save energy and water at tourism accommodations” (VHA and MeetBis project); holding press conferences to introduce tourist sites and products; signing memorandum and cooperation.
Culture – education - employment activities: performing vaudeville, traditional art; introducing intangible cultural heritage forms of Viet Nam; holding tourism employment and recruitment day.
Success of VITM 2013 will be the foundation for organizing annually a prestigious international tourism fair in Viet Nam to promote Viet Nam tourism’s image and contribute to Viet Nam become one of the top destinations in the area.
